Project Manager.

You take a project from award through to the end of the defects liability period: the programme, the budget, the consultant team, the claims and the client relationship. Projects run between roughly $1 million and $20 million, across commercial fitout, refurbishment, industrial facilities and laboratory work.

What you will do.

  • Own the programme, and defend the critical path in front of a client and a consultant team
  • Run the head contract: progress claims, variations, extensions of time and the written record that supports each of them
  • Chair weekly site meetings and issue the minutes, and write the monthly report
  • Sit in the tender review before award, so the price and the delivery assumptions are the same thing
  • Hold the subcontractor relationships on your project, from letting the package to closing out the defects
  • Keep the safety, quality and environmental plans live on your job rather than filed

What the role asks for.

Well regarded, not required: laboratory, health, education or data centre experience; early contractor involvement or design and construct delivery; experience in more than one state.

  • Five years or more in a project management role on commercial or industrial projects in Australia
  • Projects to at least $5 million carried end to end in a head contractor role
  • A construction management, engineering, building or quantity surveying qualification, or an equivalent record of delivery
  • Fluent with AS 4000 and AS 4902 style contracts
  • Programming in Microsoft Project, Asta or similar, and able to defend a critical path under questioning
  • Comfortable in front of a client, a consultant team and a subcontractor on the same day
  • Current White Card, and the right to work in Australia
